Which is why I don't like the 9-5 nonsense either. Also programming isn't just done at the computer. When I am working on a problem, I am working on it at lunch, on the bus, on my cycle, sitting out side starring into space, etc. Left to my own devices I would "work" infront of my work pc 60 hours one week 5-10 the next 40 the next two. Being forced to be in the office a set time is no good for anyone in my position.
I definitely will be using facebook ads, but at the moment facebook isn't really a great fit. I am specifically thinking about product MVP pages where I can see who makes it all the way to the checkout stage.
I could be mistaken about facebook ads at this point, but it seems better suited when users would actually share your page. They will just get the out of stock message at the moment.
from a brand awareness standpoint, facebook is definitely the way to go. if you're trying to drive sales, people are a lot closer to a purchase on google.
Thanks so much for the feed back! This is about the 5th or 6th iteration (2nd live web site)
> when I visit your site as a new user, what do you want me to do?
I knew this but lost track of it along the way, and have added a prominent prompt to login. I am aware of elance, but I had not thought of using it for this.
Thanks for the feedback. We are definitely planning to connect an app of some sort to the site.
I think/hope that as any social site the community will be somewhat organic. I do notice now however that the users private mood journal (an aspect that is one of the direct benefits to the end user) is not prominent from the main page and I will be correcting that shortly.
As in "Wal-mart profits from illegal baseball bats." Bats used for vandalism or assault.
