Unless it has changed, the posts are in random order; they aren't the latest, which makes the ones you see basically worthless.

The part I liked in Event Horizon was Laurence Fishburn's character seeing the logs of the crew going crazy and immediately turning it off and saying, "We're leaving."

Probably the smartest decision made in a horror film. Time to get out of Dodge.

Yeah! Its a great movie if you dont try to nitpick stuff, which is hard for me to do on a lot of things too.

Neill: We can't just abandon this ship, we just found her Fishburn: I have no intentions of abandoning her. We will get far enough away from it and blow it up. Fuck this ship.

The prices are set largely by what consumers will tolerate. If everyone else is raising prices so consumers expect that, why wouldn't you do it, too?

are consumers really tolerating current prices?

Do they have a choice?

Obviously one choice is “just don’t participate” but for anyone that _will_ participate, the choice is pretty much to tolerate it.

Per the article, the bulb only had 4 MB storage and the idea is that each bulb's library would be a reflection of its creator. So there is no one list. Put whatever you want on it.

> This firmware comes pre-loaded with several books that are out of copyright and in the public domain, as an example.

These are just public domain books provided as examples. You can put whatever you want on it.

Almost the entire article is about turning a light bulb into a Wi-Fi hotspot/web server, and your takeaway was, well actually, _The Color Purple_ is not technically banned.

Unless I missed something I only spotted two book examples since that wasn't the focus of the article.

It's just tech enthusiasts being socially inept. There is literally no discourse to be had from this comment, infact it only serves to detract from the main point of the article

It is the fact that this tool would only be providing minors with these "banned books" that shows a lack of social awareness.

It is the choice of the individual to base their project around these "banned books", which invites this discourse.

“Banned books” is just a safe term to use for something whose real purpose would be to facilitate sharing warez, snuff films, child porn, whistleblowing… etc. Get a grip.

It's a needed comment since the first word in the title is 'Banned' and in typical online discourse the comments go down-hill into a rant against ideology/politics.

It wasn't for one particular case. There were 3,000 lawsuits filed using it.

And frankly a three year statute of limitations for sexual assault is ridiculous.

> It wasn't for one particular case. There were 3,000 lawsuits filed using it.

Sure thing, totally a coincidence, it was just really bad luck for Trump

> And frankly a three year statute of limitations for sexual assault is ridiculous.

But 30 years is fine? You try finding a witness after 30 years, or security camera footage.

What mods do you use with SimCity 4? I've been wanting to get back into it and was looking for something like a mod pack without having to download a bunch of individual assets, but it doesn't seem to exist.

I don’t use any mods, I’m a pretty casual player but maybe I should look into some.

It is my understanding that we don't really know how this is pronounced and that this is just another instance of the Tetragrammaton [1] that is normally rendered as LORD with a few exceptions like this. This could just as easily be Yahweh instead of Jehovah.

They chose to do make content about one of their fellow classmates they knew would be harmful and shared it with others. It doesn't matter how aroused they were. If you're aroused, there's petabytes of porn literally all over the Internet.
