I wonder how accurate these measurements are in practice. They could just be placeholder implementations, right?


At Vitensenteret (science center) in Trondheim they have a web cam hooked up to a TV screen where they show a live view of some face scanner software (multiple faces simultaneously). It estimates your gender, age, and mood (happy, sad, angry, surprised).

Every time I've visited it's been quite accurate on me, my friends, and on the other visitors.

20 years ago they were adequately accurate in university lab experiments, 10 years ago it was very accurate, nowadays it is scary how accurate and fast this is.


They could, but chances are someone is trying, and may succeed soon, in actually doing this.
