Have you tried modifying the pages background color? I don't have the best web dev knowledge, but this medium page isn't very easy.

Right, I see the background in Medium is non evident, an attribute of class '.ev'

I got it now, background-color's box was so dark it appeared as black, was too lazy to read the rgb value.
