This a good question. My guess: As long as the LLM boom continues, and no new DRAM manuf capacity is added, the high prices will remain.

Previous RAM price spikes lasted for over a year. This one should last at least that long. It's promising however that the rate of change has slowed down in the last month.

Most economists will tell you the cure for high prices is high prices. We will all adjust and ram manufacturers will invest in more capacity.
