I believe this is also known as a Dutch auction. They don't know the true value of their product, so they price it high and will slowly bring it down until they are satisfied with demand.
It's not their point as stated in the description, but it is the point inferred from the title alone. "How much of Hacker News is about AI?" would have been better.
I think that this would be easy to criticize without interfacing with their underlying idea here.
It's cool that with a tool like this you don't NEED to get all aspects of your code finalized and ready. It's possible to be vague when you want to and specific when you need to.
I'm not sure if that itself would work well in practice, but the project is still quite cool nonetheless.
A self hosted version of GitHub that is a precise mirror of an actual GitHub repository. That is, PRs from GitHub appear on the selfhosted instance and my reviews from the self hosted instance appear on GitHub. That way I can work on my private instance when GitHub is down (or slow) and I can be assured my work still appears to everyone online.
AFAIK there is nothing like this out there, because there is not one standard for a "pull reauest" in the sense of how a web based forge does it. and it gets complicated quickly due to complexity of git and forks.
This is like putting lipstick on a pig. Give me an AI written README or tests but actually thoughtful codebase over human written readme but aislop code any day of the month
I think you're absolutely right. I also think that trying to become a better person is an important part of living a full life. The work I put in during the hours I'm being paid are a part that life.
